See all this? 1 pair of shorts, 3 camis, 1 tank top, 3 fitted t-shirts, and 2 (kinda 1/2 length sleeve) shirts. All at Kohls. They had amazing deals today, plus if I put my purchase on my Kohl's card, I got an additional 15% off. Sorry, this is not a commercial for Kohl's, they don't know who I am, but I am just so excited about my purchases!!! So with all those amazing deals, guess how much I spent? $100? Yeah, that would sound about right...but no, I'm better than that! I got all this, 10 items, for a mere $52.16!!! Plus, I got $10 Kohl's cash back, so it was pretty much like spending $42.16! And...I saved...(drumroll please)...$106.79!!! Yeah, I like Kohl's :)

HOUSE
We bought a house!!!
Our realtor had showed us a house in the morning, but it wasn't right for us (the ceilings were only 6 feet--Mike is 6 feet, 7 inches!) So we headed for lunch. While we were eating, the realtor called and said he had just found a house that just got listed and wondered if we wanted to see it. We had time, so we met the realtor.
We walked into the house and about passed out from the stench. The previous owners had dogs and apparently let them urinate in the house. It smelled pretty bad. Once we got over the intial shock, we found we really liked the house. It had nearly everything that we were looking for in a house. It is a foreclosure, so we knew that there would be work to do, but the price was right, so we could afford that.
We went to see the house again the next day, Saturday, and ended up making an offer. Monday we found out that there were more offers on the house so we weren't sure if we would be the top bid or not. We prayed about it and figured that if God wanted us to get this house, we would; otherwise, there must be another house out there for us. Tuesday Mike got the call that we got the house!
The house is a 3 bedroom, 1-1/2 bathroom, ranch-style house. It has a large living room, decent (but on the small end) kitchen, and dining room with a bay window! Half of the basement is finished, the other half is unfinished and would be used for storage.
The house needs a decent amount of work, but nothing that we feel like we can't handle. We will need to rip out the carpet and pad, and replace the carpet in some rooms and lay laminate wood floors in others. We will also paint all the rooms and give the house a thorough cleaning. We also need to purchase appliances, as there is no fridge, washer, or dryer, and the oven and dishwasher need replaced. Also, there is a pool in the backyard with a large deck and that will be ripped out as well.
We know that we have a good deal of work ahead of us, but we are really looking forward to it. We can't wait to make the house our own and watch the transformation! I will be posting pictures of the whole process as we go!
