Good news!!!!

Yay! I thought i'd give my media player another shot and just see if it would work. So, I opened it up, and lo and behold, all my music was back where it was supposed to be!!!!!
Now on to my next technological dilemma....why does our DSL disconnect everytime the phone rings(or someone uses the phone)?

Also, can anybody tell me how to get a profile picture on my profile?

Pick up lines

I was just reading an article online and came across some of these pickup lines...

*I thought this one was hilarious*
"Do you happen to know how much a polar bear weighs?""No, why?" "Well, it's enough to break the ice. Hi, I'm...."

"Do you believe in love at first sight, or do I need to walk by again?"

"Are you lost? Because Heaven is a long way from here"

"Can I borrow a quarter?" "Why?" "Because I want to call my mom and tell her I met the guy/girl of my dreams"

"What time is it?" "3:30." "3:30? So today is September 28, 2007 at 3:30 pm. Thanks. I just wanted to be able to remember the exact moment that I met you."

lol. Got any to top those? :) Or any that have actually been used on you?!?!

I could scream!!!!!!!!!!

I'm so upset! I just tried to open my Windows Media Player....it opened up and a message popped up that said my files were corrupted and if I exited the program and restarted it, they would return to normal. So of course I closed the program and reopened it...and all my music is GONE!!!!!!!

Success! ...finally!!!!

After 4 days of trying to hook up the new DSL at home, I finally succeeded today. Honestly, I have no idea what I did, but it worked, and now I can finally use my laptop upstairs instead of at the kitchen table!!! Yay!

See You At The Pole

So I get up at 5:40 in the morning, get ready, drive to Family Fare, meet Brandon, buy donuts and orange juice, drive to the high school, meet Zack, get a table, go outside, and wait....why? This morning was See You at the Pole, a national day of students gathering around the flagpole at their schools and praying. Praying for their nation, state, town, school, friends, and each other. Amazing!!!! And it was. The morning started out slow, we didn't get started until about 7:10, because there were only about 4 people there! First we went into a large group (about 25 kids total), gathering around the flag, and prayed. I shouldn't be surprised, but I always am, at the intensity of people's prayers. I love listening to people pray. We broke into small groups so we could pray for eachother. This was a neat experience for me, because this time I was there as the leader instead of a student (as I was the past 4 years). I was lucky enough to get into a group with some of my closest friends, Zack, Kevin, Jake, and Nathan. Listening to these guys praying and being able to pray with them was such a blessing. After everyone had finished praying, we had donuts and juice. It was a good time for socializing. As students got off the busses, many of them came over and helped themselves to the donuts and juice, which was fine, because that's what we had them for. A few people mentioned that this was "unfair", as the students had not attended SYATP, so why should they benefit from our food? Good question. Someone summed it up well, saying that it was part of our outreach, and that sharing with others enabled us to be a Christian presence. A good example of this was a boy who asked Zack what we were doing, and why we were giving away donuts. Zack told him what we were doing and stuff. Who knows...maybe this will lead into some interesting discussions between Zack and Tom? We'll see how God works, because we all know, He is in control!!!!

10 Things That Make Me Smile

I was tagged by Julie to list 10 things that make me smile...

-Getting an unexpected phone call from a friend
-Getting along with my family
-Thinking about all the great times I've had with my friends
-Singing along with the praise team at church
-Watching young children go up to the prayer ministers at church
-Signing online and getting a message from (or being able to talk with) my friends in Romania
-When God's will is made so perfectly clear in my life
-The changing seasons and the anticipation that comes with each one
-Listening to the banter between Zack and Cameron when the 3 of us hang out
-Seeing a friend I haven't seen in a while
...I could probably continue, but I'll limit myself to just 10 :)

I tag Heather and Brandon :) Have fun!

In memory....

I just found out that one of my "childhood" friends has passed away. Aaron was diagnosed with acute lymphocytic leukemia just over a year ago, I believe. He passed away on Thursday. His funeral will be this afternoon. Please keep his family and friends in your prayers.

True Confessions...lol

So...everyone has things that they afraid of, right?
Well, I've noticed about myself, that I'm afraid to admit when I'm scared or afraid. I tend to just put up a shield and pretend that everything is okay... So I'm going to come clean, here are some things that I'm afraid of...
...I'm afraid to go to my car when it's dark out, because i'm scared some body is going to be in my car, and as I drive down the road, they'll attack me
...I'm afraid that I'll die and the people that I love won't know that I love them
...I'm afraid that my friendships with people that are still in highschool will lose their strength just because i'm not in high school anymore
...I'm afraid to tell people how I feel about them
...I'm afraid to let people see my weaknesses and faults
...I'm afraid of spiders
...I'm afraid of getting hit in the face with the ball when I try to play softball or baseball

super psyched!!!

I'm so excited, I can hardly sit still. Ok, that's a bit of an exaggeration, but you get the idea. So, over the past few weeks I've been searching online and stuff for a Romanian tutor or a place that I can take lessons somewhere around Grand Rapids area. Then this morning, when I picked Alecia up, she told me she had something really cool to tell me... She's going to ESL at another church, and last night there was a new lady there. She said she really wanted to help, but she didn't speak much spanish. Then she said that she speaks Romanian and her and her husband lived in Moldova for 3 years!! Alecia told her about me, and she's willing to teach me some Romanian!!! It's amazing how things can come together, and it made me realize that no matter how hard I searched, God will provide what I need, when I need it, according to HIS will.

At school.....

So here I sit...at school...with nothing to do! I can't believe it...no homework! Usually I get homework in Spanish class from earlier this morning, but today my prof didn't assign any! So, I get to sit here and talk on instant messenger (not that I'm complaining at all!!!) And in a few minutes Heather will be here for lunch, so I will have someone to share 2 hours out of my 5 hour break with! But I just realized...she's going to be gone all next week, then who am I going to eat lunch with and who will occupy my time?!?!?!?!

New to this....

So...my first blog...what shall I write? Good question....
Life is keeping me busy now. I'm working on my homework now...or supposed to be. Currently, I'm having a theological discussion with my friend from Romania.
But what I'm supposed to be doing, has me stumped. I have to write a paper about whether or not it is appropriate to alter the Constitution to take authority over marriage (defining it as between a man and a woman, or allowing same sex marriages) away from individual states and give it to the national government...and some other examples of when power has been taken away from states. And I'm stumped on the second part. So, if anyone is bored, and would like to help me....lol :)
