Did you see the lunar eclipse last night? It was a really neat thing to see.
Do you know what causes a lunar eclipse? The earth moves between the sun and the moon, blocking the sun's light from reflecting off the moon, causing the moon not to glow. (In case you didn't know, the mooon is just a hunk of rock, it doesn't glow on it's own.)
Well, that got me thinking... As Christians, we are like the moon. We are just a hunk of dark sinful creatures...without the love of Christ (the sun). But the sun, or Son's, light reflects off of us, making us what we are. However, sometimes, we let our sinful nature or earthly desires, the earth, get between us and the sun. And that causes us not to let our light shine. Is your light shining or is there something blocking you from the sun?

I knew that the eclipse was happening last night and was too busy to go outside to look. Well, I got busy and forgot about it.
ReplyDeleteI like your post and I like the song!
What a great analogy, Melissa! I loved it and so true! The video was so awesome too - it made me think of Haiti again (my eyes started wellin' again!) Thank you so much for posting all of this!
ReplyDeleteI missed the eclipse - I forgot to look. Good comparison!
ReplyDeleteThat was a great analogy.
ReplyDeleteI missed the eclipse-thought about it but I was already tucked in bed for the night.
