My plate

My dad's plate (pre-fries)

I was watching Rachael Ray on Wednesday when I saw I recipe I knew I just had to make! She called it Denver Mile High Burgers. I changed up the recipe a bit, so my dad decided the name should be "Melissa's Mile High Burgers". I also made italian seasoned fries. Here's how you can make your own...
"Melissa's Mile High Burgers"
1-1/2 lbs. Ground Turkey
8 strips of Turkey Bacon
Some pieces of lunch meat ham
Steak Seasoning
Salt
Pepper
Oregano
Hot Sauce
1 green Bell pepper
1 red Bell pepper (I didn't have one, but it looks prettier!)
1 onion
Extra Virgin Olive Oil (or vegetable oil, whatever you prefer)
Shredded Mozzerella cheese
Buns

Cut up the ham into tiny little pieces, or put it in a food processor. Then mix together with the ground turkey. This is so that the turkey takes moisture from the ham and doesn't get so dry. Add in steak seasoning, oregano, salt, and pepper. I never measure this, so use your best judgement. Add in some onion if desired. Garlic is good too. Then squirt in some hot sauce. Mix together. Form into patties. Make the outside thicker than the middle, so that when they heat up, they are evenly formed. Cook however you cook burgers, we usually use our George Foreman
Coat a frying pan with oil. Then saute the peppers and onions. Add in salt and pepper to taste. I also added in some chili powder. Get it nice and brown.
Fry up the bacon. (I do mine in the microwave)
Assemble the burger: Place burger on bun. Top with 2 pieces of bacon. Cover with peppers and onions. The put on the mozzerella cheese. Enjoy!!!

"Italian Seasoned Fries"
Potatoes
Italian Salad Dressing
Oregano, Sage, and Basil

Wash potatoes thoroughly. Cut potatoes into wedges. Put in a bowl. Pour Italian dressing over wedges. Cover and shake. Allow to marinate for at least 3 hours. Grease a cookie sheet. Place wedges in a single layer on sheet. Mix spices together and sprinkle over the wedges. Put in 350 oven for 45 minutes. Time may be different depending on how thick you cut the potatoes. When they come out of the oven, sprinkle with Parmasean Cheese.
